  • Go to mywp.collegeboard.org

  • Use your College Board username and password to sign in to My AP.  If you have never had a College Board account, create one through the Sign Up link.

THE WHAT

The Basics: Literary Elements: The Building Blocks of Story:

Plot, Character, Setting, Point of View and Theme.

 

In breakout groups, outlining the subcategories of each element.

Groups work as teams (no divide and conquer)

Each group member traces the element on their own.

Entries can be in the form of bullets

For each sub-category, give an example from either Frankenstein or A Lesson Before Dying.

 

For theme, let's revisit our frame sentence

_________________(name of novel) is a story of _______________ (abstract noun and a what about that abstract noun).  It shows how _________ (how that abstract noun plays out in the novel).
