YOU MUST ORGANIZE AND INCLUDE ALL REQUIRED MATERIALS TO
RECEIVE FULL POINTS. This outline
appears on page 3 in the syllabus packet as well as
below:
Startup
material (the packet I gave you the first day of
school, that includes the syllabus) on top of the
Journal tab.
1. Journals – Please use a thin notebook pad (spiral or
otherwise) so that you can hand the book to me when I
randomly request it. Make sure your name is somewhere
on your notebook. Simply place the graded journals in this
section. Arrange from oldest to newest
2. Vocabulary –Includes all Vocabulary Lists. The
Master List and the Vocabulary Lists you complete.
3.
Writing – Here you will maintain any writer’s
workshop materials or writing practice work. You
will also keep all your essays in this section.
4. Study Unit – Include all materials related to our
unit of study – that’s anything I give you and anything you
produce, especially unit reading and homework packets.
5. Notes – Taking notes is a key to this class. You will use these notes to review and study; often you will
use your notes on tests and times essays. It is
critical then that you maintain organized and current notes.
I will randomly collect your notes to ensure you are
actively thinking and applying your knowledge.
6. Misc.
– Anything left over, including the sea of materials
the counselors will provide you.
Additionally, have lots and lots of pens, especially the
red variety for editing.
I do not allow pencils for anything other than scantron
tests.
